Well that is dumb of them.It was the guineas picking out my Ameraucana rooster’s beard!They do it through the wire, and the guineas free range all day so there isn’t really a way to prevent it.

Cockerels are eager fellows.Anyone have an idea of the odds that eggs are fertile if covered by an inexperienced cockerel? I don't want to crack any eggs to find out, but I'm hoping the odds are better than 50/50. Tunisia appears to have some wear on her sweep.

Tell that to Big Mama. I trim her beak frequently because it is like a very long dagger thing that doesn't stop growing. Like fingernails on steroids. She looks sad, but she is always happy that I trim her beak.Eww
Beak trimming isn’t as bad or permanent like debeaking but I still feel that it shouldn’t be done.
