I also hatched a d'Andotte on accident. The cages are separate, but d'Anvers hens can fly up to the three-inch space above the separation between cages. It has a beard, white legs with black spots, and is much larger and fluffier than the d'Anvers chicks its age. It also has a wider comb. It is also black, though it had the potential to be blue because of the Wyandotte rooster.
If the cross was done the other way, it would have been sex-linked. The reason she has black spots is the same reason black Wyandottes have black spots on otherwise yellow legs. d'Anvers have a lot more white than Wyandottes, so there is more black. However, her legs are still obviously white, just as they are supposed to be.
