Two vet tech's showed up, put on their disposable jump suits, complete with footies. They tested 15 birds (a mix of chickens and turkeys). They swab the beak and dip the swab in a solution (the vile of solution actually will go to the lab), then they draw a small blood sample from the wing and put it into a paste on a piece of glass. Made 15 paste blobs on the glass before starting. What took the longest was looking up the codes for each of my breeds. They issued a temporary NPIP on the spot and I have to mail in a form with a check.

Hopefully it's that easy here. :) I only have 3 breeds I will be testing.

How much does NPIP cost?

Oh that's nice.

@Cyprus
Lol, I guess Rynish doesn't sell chicks. There may be a market after all. I don't sell chicks either though. NEED ALL MAH BABIES
I do believe there is a market. From what WI folks are PMing me on FB, it is apparently very difficult to find anyone selling eggs or chicks from MF d'Uccles. One person even asked me if $5/ea for chicks was too cheap. And they're driving over an hour one way!
