I gotta find a way to ID chicks without leg bands. Is nail polish okay?

I have used nail polish on chicks before, well more like a young pullet but... yeah. She did great with it, but stay away from pinks and reds- they peck at those more. Wing bands are also an option.

These button quail eggs are uncandleable. Therefore I cannot tell if they are alive or dead.
There are 12, due to hatch on the 22nd. So my friends, how many chicks will hatch?

Was wondering the same thing. Also not wing bands for me either because my dad is weird about puncturing stuff.

Another reason why I won’t use wing bands... but some people have and love them.

I'm painting them to figure out if my prediction on boy or girl is correct. Once I get a large enough sample.

My guess is 9

I also have 23 fertile chicken eggs hatching on the same day. (But I'll move the quail to the other incu.) But I don't know if you want to take up the challenge.
