I believe that BYC rules say that political and religious conversations are discouraged. If you have questions about people’s religious beliefs you can always ask questions on the threads. I’m sure it would help to state that you are just curious and not looking to offend anyone and that you’re sorry if you do accidentally or unintentionally.

I don't what you're talking about. I mean, it doesn't make me angry or offended in any way when ask questions like this. You're not hurting me at all, don't worry about it! Everything is ok!
I guess I don't know for sure, but I think the people involved in this particular conversation are fine talking about this stuff.
I don't think your hurting anyone's feelings.

I don’t take offense you your questions. I’m not going to try and convert you or say you’ll go to hell for not having religion in your life.
It’s just that when it comes to certain customs that seem outdated or nonsensical and if someone asks a religious person why you do such and such. If there answer is because God said so, I don’t think you’ll be satisfied with that answer.

Thanks, Elly. :hugs It's not you guys at all. I'm just super cautious now after I lost a guy I cared about because we couldn't get past our polar opposite religious beliefs :( It still hurts
