Opal and I walked today. She walked half a mile..... I walked 4. I’m still proud of her. Opal and Hallie were the only two that laid eggs today.

Thank you, I’m glad you like it! Only 3 from that many? Woah. My girls LOVE starter better than anything else, but after Maddie begins to lay, they shall have to switch.

You're very welcome. As long as they stay on this side of the driveway I'm OK... But they really need to hang out in the fenced areas to cut down on predators. But they are way more alert to threats than any of my other breeds.

So the other day I let one of my friends hold one of my chickens... here’s how it went:
Me: “so do you like it?”
Friend “ARE YOU KIDDING?! I LOVE IT!”
Me: “you know you eat chickens right”
Friend: “Holy $***! That’s it, I’m never eating chicken again”

I read a thread here on BYC where college students decided they couldn't do brown or colorful eggs any more because they came out the same hole as poop. But white eggs don't. College students Apparently no one ever explained the two pipes to one hole concept. In another thread, a woman said she couldn't eat farm fresh eggs because she couldn't stand the thought of eating a baby chick.... The person explained that unless the egg is set or incubated the embryo can't develop. So your not eating the baby chick, just the chicken's period. I think she could have left the last part out.
