Ok, give me a few, it will take time to type this out.![]()
Thank you so much for that story! I was smiling, tearing up, and laughing all at the same time!Ok, Dave my best friend and I were in college an hour apart. It was rare that we were able to go home. We both became very aware of the value of a dollar. We had to work for a lot of what we wanted, but had everything we needed provided.
Before we went to college, we would keep DW's step brother (corey) out of trouble. We knew all the cops and could pretty much smooth any situation out.
So Corey's folks liked that we kept an eye out and kept him out of trouble while letting him spread his wings a bit. His dad would often slip us a few bucks to make the cost of the night less expensive.
So Dave and I are in town and Corey wants to go party, so we agreed... Got to his house and they had a party in the back yard (DW's graduation party). Lots of pretty girls, good music to dance to and free food and booze. BTW, Dave and I made our money as bouncers and crowd control folks.
One of DW's friends was like, she's just sitting there we need to get her on the dance floor. So we coordinated with her step dad and he went to the dance floor and Dave put her out there. As soon as the music ended she darted back to her chair. Her friend then suggested that she needed to be thrown in the pool down the street. Our answer was simple get Mom and Dad's buy in and we're up for it. Mom and Dad approved, so we picked her up and headed down the alley.
I jumped the fence first, Dave handed her to me. Then he jumped the fence, btw the entire party was following. We took off her shoes and anything that could be water damaged and into the pool she went.
When she came out I got to carry her back to the house. As I looked into those deep blue eyes, I was convinced that the was the girl I wanted to marry. Of course she was wringing her wet cloths out over my head all the way back. After we dropped her in the dry house, she went and changed into dry clothing. Then challenged me to see why she was tossed into the pool. I told her that her mom approved so she wanted mom tossed into the pool and Dad approved. So Mom was next down the alley and into the pool. After that I figured we'd worn out our welcome and it was time to leave.
Her step brother forbid me from dating his sister. I went to work talking about her and after a week or so my Journeyman threatened to kick my back side if I didn't ask her out. I gathered my courage and picked up the phone expecting her to tell me to plow sand. I had every response to "NO" ready and never expected "YES". Wow. and we've been together ever since. More than 30 years.
Aww! That’s so sweet!I do have to admit she keeps me in line.
Lovely
