I had to separate Big Heifer (older molting hen), due to her being pecked on. Maddie & Opal were picking and eating her feathers:(

Well, Todd had an interesting afternoon patrol. I was out dealing with the Christmas tree so he got to run. He patrolled the front of the house, up the mountain and around the pastures. Then came his first test. Neighbor's friend came to pick her up... This person is nice enough, but her driving habits need some improvement. She'll drive our single lane road at 40+ mph AND Todd loves to chase cars. She pulled into the neighbors driveway and Todd went after the car, but stopped at the creek and just barked and then came back when I called him. WIN! Then ran up to the deck and around and went after the pigs going crazy. LOSS! Three of us working, he finally came to me and I walked him back into the house. It didn't help that one of the pigs was antagonizing him and egging him on. Brats.:rant all in all I think I'm still going to call this a win. And of course he was a muddy mess when he came in, but he's pretty well cleaned himself as of now. New development... Self cleaning mud gives him gas and he burps a LOT after doing so. Next weekend, he's going to get his first bath or shower and I'm sure that will be entertaining to say the least. He'll get the skunk treatment first then a good shampoo.
