I am doing well, thanks for asking!

Not good at all. My area had over 80 gas leak fires last night and we had to evacuate our home along with the rest of the three towns. Sirens everywhere and I could see smoke rising from a building. I stayed at a family member's for the night and I can't believe it happened to me. I'm safe right now.

I checked my chooks last night at 6:00 before they evacuated us and they were safe and happy. There is no electricity in the coop (at least in the fall) or gas and it is away from trees and the house. Waters are full, as well as their feed and layer pellets. I think the only thing that will affect them is that they're no morning yogurt and sunflower seeds waiting for them xD.

OMG! I'm so sorry you had to evactuate! That must be so frightening. I'm glad you're ok, and your flock is safe!

Today I counted the rooster chicks I could identify, and I have about 14. I'm keeping the frizzled tolbunt Polish roo, but I need to get rid of the others. I'll do Craigslist, then go to the rooster sanctuary.

Doing a lot better! My street was okay-ed by the police and was able to go back to my house last night. Luckily the chooks weren't in the coop roosting yet and free-ranged for a little more than an hour before filing inside. All the birds very happy and no broodies- yay! There were around ten eggs in the favorite nest xD. We have power right now, but no gas (obviously).
