I can't hold it period. I need both hands, one for the egg and one for the flashlight.
Try candling one handed. It sucks.

I used to take a lot of product photography, and we had to do a lot to get things to stand in the right way for reflections, etc.... I remember coming across a lot of like cups people would cut into for tripods. Like a hard cardboard coffee cup, you cut into the top and it holds your phone. brb.

Cut the slot at an angle?
Might be good to use the taller skinnier plastic sour cream container,
cut camera/phone slot in bottom and put a rock or something inside cover for a counter weight. Cover of container would be base when in use. Does that make sense?
