KC Drake sitting on egg and is meaner

So ever since the KC female started laying eggs, the male has become a bit more territorial. A few days ago, my husband caught him sitting on an egg and today, he charged at me when I was refilling their water in their coop.

Anyone have any thoughts on what's going on?

I have seen Bean sitting eggs for a short spell.

I lost track . . . your drake has the curly tail feather, the whaspy voice, right?

Yup. Dark head, curly tail feather and a non-quacker. 100% sure he is male.

Oh and the eggs we've been getting have the white bulls eye.

I heard from a friend that her call drake actually made himself a nest and sat in it for a few days.

Here they are. My husband also said that he was fussing with the nest the same way that the chickens do with theirs.

he is just being pretective, take the eggs away and dont let them nest and he will change his tune. Duck eggs are excellet in baked goods as well as cooked for breakfast. just because their is a drake and duck doesnt mean the eggs have to be hatched.

We're not planning on hatching. We use the eggs for eating. I just wondered about the sudden aggression when he used to follow me around all the time. Also, do duck bites hurt?
