Yes they hurt, more like a big pinch. He is growing up and hormones are kicking it, now you need to make sure he knows his behavior is not acceptable, When my drake stated acting like well a drake, I carried the broom with me and when he came towards me I would put the broom between us that usually was enough to get him started in another direction, let him know you are big duck not him, I raised my drake inside because his mama rejected him so I was totally shocked when he started being aggressive towards me, but now that he is 11/2 yrs old he is my buddy again. They go through something like the terrible 2's but much earlier in drakes. lol
