For those of you that have Khaki Campbell’s, have you had problems with flying or flighty behavior and did you have to trim feathers? Considering the breed thanks! :)

The drake that we re homes a couple weeks ago could fly. He only flew out of the fence when startled and then he would panic trying to figure out how to get back in. It was not a problem of him deciding to leave and not come back. He always wanted to be with his flock.

My Khakis are a little more stand-offish than my Pekins but that's not to say they're not tame. They have not attempted to 'fly' but love running in the yard and flapping their wings. Mine are very active, not to mention a simply gorgeous breed.

If you don’t mind my asking which breed do you like better, the Pekin or KC?

My KC drake is a little over a year old. He has never once attempted to fly. My KC duck was flying about a foot off the ground at about 6 months old. We unfortunately had an owl problem this past fall, so we no longer have her. I guess it just depends on the individual duck.

My KCs are quite skittish compared to my other ducks, things seem to terrify them. When startled they will go and startle me back by flying up into my face. There is no doubt in my mind that they could easily fly over a 4 foot fence, whether on purpose or because they got scared, however I don't think they could actually fly away.

My girls like to flap and fly on the ground racing across the back yard for treats. I clip wings just to prevent any injuries and or neighbor issues if they were to leave the yard. I want them safe.

My kc was the only one to make it out of the pen and always whent to the nuttiest neighbors house.

When i got my kc hen as an adult i clipped her wings after carrying her home a few times from the neighbors. She cleard the 5 foot fence from a stand still
