On the bright side, my brother went waterskiing and we then went to this little water hole/river/beach which is where we swam, then a little more waterskiing and back and we had fun

I used to want one until I groomed one. Changed my mind forever about type of dogs I want to keep. I still admire the breed.

Yeah, that hair and the drooling is definitely a lot of work and a lot of mess. But my mom was saying that she saw something about how the Coast Guard is starting to use them to rescue people and how they swim with more of a breast stroke rather than doggy paddle. My brother didn't believe that dogs could do the breast stroke so I Googled it and found that article with the 20 fun/interesting facts about Newfies. Apparently they have also been used in wars. I found the facts very interesting. There is one story of a Newfoundland picking up a grenade and carrying it away from his men. He obviously died. A few other cool stories and Newfies in that link too. I used to really want one but idk. They're like bigger, messier Labs lol probably just as goofy/immature at times but bigger. I really want a Leonburger. Just as sweet and lovable but with a dry mouth aka NO DROOL. Biggest bonus LOL but they do still have a lot of coat and of course are BIG dogs.

Big dogs often live very short lives too. That's another reason I never got myself an Irish wolfhound. 6-10 years for a life expectancy really turned me off. They have always been my favorite big breed. Of course boxers often don't live long either, but I love their goofiness and devotion.

Yeah, the short lifespans are so sad. Great danes are only like 8 or 10 years too. Very very sad. I could never do that. Right when you get to like the Golden years and they really start behaving or slowing down or whatever. I couldn't do it. But then having a little breed last for like 15 or 20 years could be slightly annoying too lol sorry, that sounds so mean. How come Boxers don't live long?

Boxers are prone to cancers and heart problems unfortunately. My first I lost at 10 to cardiomyopathy, my second at 9 to what I believe was liver cancer. Hopefully Rosie, my current boxer, lives longer.

I see you got yourself a bright blue 10 years banner. :wee

Aww that's so sad! :( that sounds somewhat like Goldens, the show lines are very prone to cancer.

And yes I did! :D just noticed it. Where's your banner? You need one!
