We would have a car full of critters at the end of the day. I'm still thinking about parakeets because of you.
I never did koi because of their size. Goldfish get big enough. How do you plan to keep your pond thawed in winter? I probably should check out you pond thread for that answer.
LOL true! Might not be room for us if we’re not careful.

And aww are you gonna get more?
Yeah, some get to like 2 or 3 feet, right? That’s massive and I’d have to have a pretty big pond. But some people were saying they have great personalities. Plus they have cool colors. Idk.
Well, some said they just leave everything running but that doesn't sound too safe to me but then I found this tonight and it sounds like a great solution and it’s pretty cheap. Plus the reviews are great and most say it’s the best of every one they’ve tried. So I’m thinking I might give it a shot. If it doesn’t work, I can always bring them inside or just go hack a hole out lol they just need a hole for gas exchange, right? And not feeding in winter.

Hi Kelsey and Rose and Boxer mom!
Kel how is your dog doing?
Hi!!
Gator is doing pretty well lately but he has good days and bad days. He lost like all his hair a couple months ago. Started in a patch so went to vet and was on antibiotics but it kept getting worse. He looked very patchy for a while as he lost all undercoat and then his undercoat turned brown so he had brown ugly undercoat clumps all over. But once he lost the undercoat (helped by us brushing and pulling it out) and was black again he looked better. Have given him numerous bathes and it’s starting to grow back somewhat so doesn’t look as bad now, although still extremely short and some scabs and bites on his skin from the mosquitos. Anyway, long story short, latest development is he got hair loss/crusty around his eye and major goop so vet put him on an antibiotic eye ointment. Just got it yesterday and it actually seems to be helping already and his eye isn’t all dry/crusty anymore. I was paranoid it was serious but with how fast it cleared up idk. He is also back on the steroids which is why I said he is better because he has a strong appetite and lots of energy and wanting to play, etc. but at the same time, I know that is largely because of the steroids and off of them he isn’t as great plus he has been having lots of trouble getting in the car and his myositis (Masticatory muscle myositis (
MMM) is getting worse to the point where he now has no cheeks either and is down to bone on the top of the head/extremely prominent crown, eyes continue to sink deeper and deeper, already very sunken, and I think he’s going deaf, so idk how long we will be able to keep the steroids going or how much longer he has. It’s hard because he seems to still be full of energy and life, especially on the steroids, and with the supplements I’ve been giving him, but then you see him off the steroids and it’s like a different dog. And if he goes blind and deaf, that’s no life. I’m thinking of getting a second opinion from another vet though to see if there’s anything else that can be done but I think it might be too late. I kind of wish we had gone to another vet sooner but I’m not sure we could have stopped it anyway.
Sorry for the novel and to get all depressing, could’ve just said he’s fine and/or kept it short lol
