it is indeed an interesting bird! It has an interesting combo of silkie features and standard chicken--NH red (or whatever the mom was, 1CM was guessing on it). Size-wise, it looks like it will be a pretty big bird, but it has the blue earlobes, a muff and feathered legs (no extra toes though).

I finally got a few decent close-ups of the face/head of my young black silkie. I can't see any comb in all those fluffy head feathers! LOL So do you think it's likely a hen? It's the one that loves to hide behind the funky red rooster that is half silkie and half NH red or something. It was really hard to get pics of this one---i hat to catch her, and hold her while taking pics, but most of the pictures weren't any good. I hope you can see what you want to see. Ha-ha!

howardacres...looks girlie to me too. But I think we need to see the whole bird and tail feathers (boys tail feathers really poof out and then fall down in the back)...SIZ is really good at sexing silkies. Maybe she'll chime in.


I am going to be offering up for sale MY AVATAR photo I took of some of my hens eggs, feathers, and Gypsy's quail eggs. 8x10 framed photo prints for $35. I'll mat them too!! It is a beautiful photo!!

DD is planning on selling Lavender Lemonade...for FREE with donations for her trouble. I've still got to call the snow cone guy...I'm behind on that. And Gypsy...tell Cassie that YES he had sugar FREE!! (my mom is a type 1 diabetic too)

Is there any suggestions anyone might have for me?? I hope I've done all that I could...just hope folks show up. I might post again on Craigslist??
