It mite but in my dealings, its about the thickness of the wire involved. It seems to be alot harder to chew through welded wire than layer wrapped chicken wire. JMHO

HOTWIRE... HOTWIRE... HOTWIRE !!!!!!! cant say THIS enough!!! chicken wire alone WONT work... either buy stronger mesh.. or put up 3 strands of hotwire!!!
if not,, dont even bother putting the chickens in the coop,, just feed them strait to the coyotes

And it's not just the problem of chewing through wire. Chicken wire also RUSTS -- and the rusted areas are VERY easy to rip.

My main pen has a lot of chicken wire on it -- it was that way when I bought the property. One of my dogs easily broke through that wire and killed my first flock. I've now reinforced all the dog-reachable parts with welded wire and hardware cloth, and I'll be reinforcing the higher parts of the pen as I get time for it.

Chicken wire will NOT keep predators out.
