Keep your fingers crossed - New run arrivig

It did not have a lift gate either. Why use such a thing for deliveries?!
Ok, I did exaggerate the height a weeee bit!
I felt dwarfed by the machine standing on the back end! Lowe's trucks are plenty big, Along with the 40 some seater school bus. I did not imagine they'd sent such a monster out!
So, While I had coffee, I have to be somewhere, so the thing is still on the pickup. I hope it slides out without much ado.....
Plus I need to pick up my tramp (tarp ;)) on the way home.

Happy July all!

Fortunately for me, I don't need a lift gate. I've got a tractor with forks.
Good luck with the tramp...🤣

Ok, package unloaded. Resting easy in the grass until tomorrow or sunday - whenever the weather permits being out there.
nearly did not get my truck back on the road and I rearranged the gate post.....:he😅
Fun times. That, too will be assessed more later. I should sell the chickens and cut my losses.
Or write a book.
recoop some? 😉

Ok, Several hours of play later:

more pictures of the progress in the album. Don't tell my kid he is in a couple. He was a super helper!
Critique my setup here. The birds are not yet out. I am scared to death, there are small gaps under the fence, hidden in the tall grass, and I am not 100% sure I want to leave it there, so I am holding off on any digging, etc for the time being.
I have some 8 (and 12) foot decking boards I can temporarily place around the perimeter though.
and I am considering putting a box in there for now, so they can get out of sight of my huntery people, both cat and dog.
Oh, and dog found herself a rock.
One with feet!

I forgot that I put the turtle in the baby coop.
Damn dog is barking at her.
Ok, now the coop is in full sun. I am rethinking my location. But I will a couple (3) of my kid's friends to move it, I am sure. Maybe build the next on one PVP pipe skids? 😅
It is a nice product though, even with a sizable dent in one of the panels.
Any thoughts on the setup though? I am sure the roost will have to be changed. I know it is not 5 feet long.

Yes, you will want to fill in all the gaps at the bottom with something that will keep the chicks in and the predators out.
