The Moonshiner's Leghorns

How are you!?
Doing well, just been busy. We have been butchering roosters, and next will butcher some tom turkeys when I get a free weekend. I am turning the Sportsman back on this evening. We are going to hatch some eggs for a friend and as soon as my Buff pullet starts laying, I will set some eggs from her.

How are you?

That is too high for me. I have chicks to drown after pipping at 45% humidity. I most definitely would not go any higher than that. And keep those vents open. I promise you, you will have more problems with humidity too high than too low. As long as you don’t to lower than 25% the first 18 days, then lockdown as normal (65-70% the last 3 days) they will do just fine.
It's always so dry over where I am at except for when we have the monsoon, so I have to do mine higher.

Oh nice!!!!!!!!!!!! Busy is good.

I’m okay… I’ve been busy too LOL started the trauma based PHP today which went really well (I am lucky and came in at a good time… week 1, day 1 LOL) and then I went to the Clubhouse afterwards. I didn’t get to be there super long because they close at 4:30 and I got there a little after 3 but I still got to see and talk to people which is what I wanted so that’s good. LOL so yeah. I have the PHP again tomorrow.

I have also been working on moving too. I still do not have a move in date but my ACCS peer specialist helped me bring a few things over on Saturday so I am slowly getting my stuff over there. LOL still have a lot more to go.

Also… pretty sure I had a massive, super intense panic attack or just anxiety attack earlier. LOL I actually seriously, genuinely thought maybe it was a heart attack… 😭💔

But thankfully, I feel better now so I don’t think it was a heart attack. LOL

I took a scheduled anxiety med earlier 1-2 hours late (I have a window I can take it in but I forgot) so that helped me and then I also took a PRN anxiety med about 30 minutes after that. And I also took my inhaler because I have asthma too soooooo…

All of that helped me feel way better LOL

OH and I got up and moved instead of just laying down. And cooked Mac n cheese.

So I’m better now.

But yeah. It was scary. I’ve had anxiety attacks before but this was intense lol

Well the incubator is fighting back now. I was trying to lower it slowly so the vent isn’t all the way open yet but it’s gone back up to 51% so I opened it more. Just a smidge to go but I didn’t expect it to be so high with it that far open. At least the eggs look good so far. This is the Easter Legger

A friend of mine had a panic attack on the freeway once and had to pull over so we could come get her. Very intense! I wish you all the best dealing with this. :hugs

I imagine different climates cause results to vary. Our climate is considered “humid subtropical” in Kentucky apparently.

I have had a panic disorder since I was a kid (childhood trauma), so I know all too well how your panic attack felt, and I'm sorry you had to go through that. I legit had one so bad the other day, I called my husband and told him if I was dead when he came home I wouldn't be surprised. They are scary and the physiological symptoms that accompany a panic attack feel very much like a heart attack. I had to take 20 mg of propranolol and a vistaril before mine settled down.

Glad you are doing better! And it sounds like you are coping beautifully! Praying for you in your convalescence!
