That is actually not a bad idea, I mean, there are only 4 ladies with the ducks right now, but maybe I could just see how it goes, or take another one from the other pen.Can you keep one of the roosters with the ducks?

Ya, I was worried about this of sure, didn't know if it was really a thing though.Putting one rooster alone in seeing distance to his hens will be rather traumatic to him. Also, when a rooster's been away from his hens and joins them again he'll go on a breeding spree and cause a lot of stress. So a permanent solution would be preferable
Duh, why didn't I think of this! I actually might up the younger new rooster in with the ducks and see who it goes, because the reason this 4 hens are in with them anyway, is because Sam, is a REAL jerk to his favorite ladies, so he loves to over mate those 4. I will defiantly try it though!Since you have some hens with the ducks, could one of the roosters go with them? Maybe the older one? I use that solution myself. Have had one old roo and one hen with the ducks all year without any problem.
Awesome! I am planning on it! I am letting this guy heal up his wounds, he si only 7 months and got into fights with another rooster there. I am letting him heal and then hopefully the hens will be ready to be with him once he is healed. I am excited to see what happens!I think this is the best plan. It may need adjustment, but mixing them back and forth will cause more problems than it is worth. Chickens hate change, so getting two set ups established will work best.
All though, I took a rooster in such a full molt, I kept him isolated for 6 weeks, until my pullets started laying, and he had healed up. He was fine. I do think he is happier now, but truthfully he seemed pretty content by himself.
