Keeping a broody cool?

**OKAY, UPDATE**

I guess now we do have an answer to a situation of this nature... my friend just posted on facebook that one egg HAS indeed hatched and one more has pipped!!

I'm so relieved.

Since day one this friend has made comments questioning the viability of my hen's eggs. I'm so glad at least two have/are attempting to hatch. That hen finally gets to be a mamma, the ice packs didn't ruin the whole hatch and I do know what a fertile egg is!

Yay! Now that you've said that, I've changed my mind. You're friend sounds like a jerkface! You should probably call her stupid just for the hell of it.

LMAO @ TT!'s comment. My thoughts exactly. Dianne, you and your hens should get the confidence to just say "Well, they hatch out fine for ME, I guess you must have done something wrong with them" any time someone questions the quality and fertility of your hatching eggs. Unless of course you've shipped them, in which case you say "The postal service must have played football with them..."

And now we all have the answer to whether a hen can hatch eggs while simultaneously sitting on ice-packs.

I'll be storing this tale away for future reference. The next time someone asks about ice-packs I'll know what to tell them. LOL!
