Keeping backyard fowl in Rockingham, NC

I'll look into that. Cause it's so silly that almost every city around us that is far more built up and crowded can have backyard chickens.. shoot one of the larger cities even allows roosters in city limits?! haha... and here I am over in no where land in a tiny city JUST within the limits of the city and not allowed to have 3 ducks haha.
Hi! I am currently looking to move there as well! I have 4 ducks, 2 are 4 years old and the other 2 are 3. I cannot get rid of them😱 wondering what you ended up doing and if maybe the ordinances changed?? I can’t seem to find much on it, unless I’m just not looking good enough. Thanks!

I had called City hall and was told the police have better things to worry about rather than someone calling in about chickens or ducks. :p Annnd in this sleepy town, they really do got their hands full. The Police here are also the animal control.. so they get called for literally everything. But they have been super nice each time I've spoken with the police here. I've had to call about several different dogs over the years I've been here.. people letting them run around when they act semi aggressive.. people not feeding their dogs with puppies.. small town issues but yeah.

So long as you and your animals aren't being a nuisance to others.. people don't seem to care here. There are several folks near me and more in town even with chickens.. XD

At the worse.. try to get friendly with your neighbors. Offer up some eggs. :3 I know all my neighbors as asking when I'll have eggs/chicks haha they've known my plans to get chickens for years now XD (just got them this year!)

I would for sure have a fence around where you are keeping them though. I dunno what part of the town you'll be moving to, but there are some packs of pretty tame feral dogs about (they are well fed) but I don't think they'd be tame towards a easy meal. >.<

Thank you so much for the info!!! How do you keep yours safe outside from all the predators. Would just like to know a few extra precautions beforehand! I have bird netting over their fenced in area where I live now. Any insight helps! Thanks!
