First off I'm a beginner

Mine are two weeks old and I have been letting them out in the yard for a week now. Of course I keep close. They love it. They also wallow in the dirt and fall asleep. Too cute. I'm also let the two months old pullets near so they get use to them.

So far no problems. I do put them back inside where they spend most of their time.

My opinion if they were naturally born the mother would hv them outside

Yes, if they were outside with mama they'd be out already. They would also have the benefit of her looking out for predators. If they are in your fenced backyard, they're fine. You'll have to balance their size with space- if their living space is too small to be contained in 24/7, you could have issues.

The biggest issues with babies is predator. Hawks can get babies very easily, even with mama. And they can't run as fast as adults, so bear that in mind.

I made a portable run (some T-posts and chicken wire) for the babies. Kept them close to the cover of the coop, and by the time they could figure out how to fly over the wire {which won't do a thing to keep predators safe and that wasn't the goal), it was time to take their pen down and let them go.

Now when I hatch, they get the grow-out coop for several weeks and mama.

I decided to let my chicks out today in our dog pen they can get out but they don't because the bigger chickens and the dog are on the outside lol so I think that will woke until they get a little bigger.

If the babies are out then

I'm out. Lol
I hv a 10'x20'x8' fenced in run for the older ones
The babies stay in a kennel in the garage for another couple of weeks. I'm already integrating little by little.

My baby cornishX's just left the brooder, They are 2 weeks old today, 2 more weeks and they are free range!

We have a few sets in outside pens - most were used to being in a coop with enclosed run for so long that now with them free ranging they head to their hut to lay an egg - so no hunting eggs down - we've started rotating ours since each has a rooster- each day the next bunch go out - so they all get a turn - tho a couple here and there will lay in a bush- but luckily most will go back to their huts

Ive been letting the older ones out for most of the day when I am working outside.

I had put the littles back inside the garage and left the side door open. Next thing you know all six were inside checking on the littles. Pretty cool
