Dear All

Thanks for the advice recently on dealing with poohy eggs. You were all right to leave her to it, I heard cheeping this afternoon from under my hen.

My concern now is the temperature. It has dropped dramatically here over the last couple of weeks, down to 10 degrees.

Should I take heed of your last advice and let nature take its course or do I need to give her a little help.

Thanks in advance

Ant

You don't need to help your mama hen, nature prepared her perfectly to do the job whether it is zero degrees or a hundred degrees, she knows better than us what to do. Unless....she decides she doesn't want to and then you will have to step in with your brooding equipment and do the job.

Thanks everyone,

I ended up covering the house with a couple of old blankets to take the chill off and stop the major drafts.

I saw all 8 of the chicks venture out today for a drink and a bite to eat, so it can't be too cold.

mother nature is awesome

Thanks again for the advice.

Ant.
