keeping cool

what are some good ways to keep my chicks cool i heard to fill 2 liters up and freeze em and then put them in there? thanks

Yes, you can do that and also make sure they have cool, fresh water all the time. Make sure they have plenty of shade and spots where they can dust bathe in and watermelon or some cold fruit or vegetables will help cool them down.

That bucket was filled 1/2 full of water, then put in the freezer overnight, then filled to the top with cold water and sunk into the ground. Made a huge iceberg that kept chilled water most all day long. Tents made with cord strung between the trees and old bedsheets. That, plus underneath the 20' long coop are crater-size foot deep dust holes.

One year we hosed down the coop to keep it cooler. Helped a tad. Another year we put in misters.

You can't put in misters when your humidity is already through the roof. That actually makes matters worse. You hope the humidity will go down in the south.
