Keeping coop safe from raccoons

You keep mentioning chicken wire, that's probably your main issue. Chicken wire is only good for keeping chickens in, it keeps nothing out. Replace the chicken wire with half inch hardware cloth. Will wait for pictures.
I can't afford to use hardware cloth, but nothing messes with the chicken wire and electric wires. I do also have some welded wire with chicken wire.

Nice! My husband said he put up hardware cloth so I guess I don’t need to buy electric wiring. Tonight is going to be the first night my chickens will be locked in their coop so I’ll see what happens and what I need to do afterwards.
