Hi, have currently got 6 silkie eggs (not bantam size) and 6 orpington eggs in my incubator and want to know if i can keep them in the same brooder? I would at a guess say yes up to a certain age, but i havent had experience before so i dont want to chance it and it having a negative effect on them. Any help would be great!

it will be fine. any breeds can grow up together im pretty sure. also silkies are only bantam

Chickens don't see breeds, just other chickens ;). Yes, it'll be fine.

Thanks for the help guys. I thought as much but didnt want to chance it. Actually animal lover Silkies are classed as large fowl. A misconception i think because of their size. Had me fooled until someone told me

they definitely come in bantam and if there are large fowl silkies they are veeery rare
