I had an accidental feed/rain experiment in my yard. During the final stages of building our coop, I was putting my 4 pullets in the yard in a Peck & Play enclosure. I put water and feed dishes in with them. By the end of the day they turned over the feed dish. So there have been 2 little piles of feed in the yard. There hasn't been a rain for days. Yesterday came a real good rain. I went out this morning and I saw white fluffy mold had formed over each pile of feed. That was not even 24hrs from the rain storm. Now I'm so worried about the feed in the coop. The dish in the coop stayed dry but only because the rain came straight down. One if those stormy sideways rains will get everything wet. We'll figure this out but I was just wondering if anyone knew just how fast mold forms on feed
