Keeping hay in nest boxes...?

Is there any way of keeping the hay in nest boxes? I swear my girls like to go up there and just get all the hay down! I'm only getting one egg every other day from one of my 13 hens, so it's not as if they are earning their keep yet!

If you can put a little piece of cardboard wood across the front of the nest box that helps.
