Keeping Mandarin ducks in the winter

I am getting a pair of mandarins for the second time now. I now have a fly pen built. I am planning on keeping them outside in it but, I live in Michigan with harsh winters. Should I wrap the outside part with thick plastic or any other ideas if it’s needed?
