Keeping more in the city.

I was wondering if anyone has gone to the city and asked to raise more than you are allowed to, just for a few months. I'm in San Jose, but any major city might have the same basic feeling on the subject. In SJ we are only able to keep 6 chickens. But I was thinking of getting a load of 30 or so meaties next year and trying to raise them for a couple months and then kill them off and freeze them for the year. I was wondering if anyone else tried this in their area.

No, but the county ordinance here says that immature offspring not yet the age of sexual maturity DO NOT COUNT. I mention this because I know you're not gonna let those meaties reach sexual maturity, so they are all SOME chicken's "immature offspring."

Perhaps the San Jose city ordinance makes mention of immature offspring. Do you know?
