Keeping out weazels

Anyone have any pearls of wisdom on how to keep weazels out of your coop.

I don't really know but I'll tell you that my dog protects my chickens so nothing comes near them. But I think a coop with a solid ground would probably help your situation. My friend had chickens that got eaten by a Mink!

I would place live traps outside the coop...

Surround the entire enclosure with 1/2" hardware cloth. Close up any gaps that are larger than a half inch.

I use half inch hard ware cloth. To prevent weasels then in winter time while the fur season is on i use weasel boxes with rat traps to catch any that is around.

We have 4 large dogs but we will see how they do with a weazel should one come to visit. They are crafty little demons. I reinforced the old coop floor. Put chicken wire on top of the old floor then a whole new floor on top of that. The entire coop and run has a string of electric fence around it at ground level with a cow charger powering it. Not a small poultry charger. Mr Weazel or Fox comes a shopping it will light them up like a Christmas tree lol. One of my dogs already tested it lol. She has a whole different respect for the chickens now. She thinks one of them bit her lol.
