I keep a "Book of Days" (they're always on clearance at places like Border's). I use it to track chickens and garden stuff. Daily I record:
* weather/temps
* eggs, weight, who laid (this has proven valuable to know when my BR, who has had cocci and roundworms, most recently laid)
* chick weights (about every week or so)
* what's happening in the garden: what's up, blooming, budding, needs work, etc.
* illnesses & treatments
It takes me about 2-3 minutes a day and it about 3-4 lines of writing. In time I'll be able to compare what has happened in March every year in my garden & with the chickens.
I'm terrible about remembering birthdays & significant dates. I started this book as a means to get better about remembering & acknowledging birthdays so that I can stop ticking people off!
