The school that my husband works at gives them Macs... I hate that... I go in once a year to help with a project and I can't do a darn thing with any of the computers... lol

It took me a while...like a year to get used to my Mac. I haven't used a 'regular' computer in years. I'm afraid I would be lost.

The worst of it is the track pads, apparently there is a setting that makes them behave normally, he has his MacBook setup so it acts normally and I can use that one, but the ones the kids have I can't even move the darn mouse!

I don't have a laptop, I haven't had one in years because I never really had a need for one... Until now!

you should check out refurbished thinkpads. I have one I use for certain things and I think it would be good for what you do. I have a bobcat xplorer too but that's a little much for what you want to do I would think

I keep an egg chart!
I make a list sorted by date, with abbreviations of whatever chickens happened to lay that day; for example:
CL / BR / ORP - 11/19/19 - 180 (Eggs-To-Date Total)
On the left are the breed abbreviations of who laid that day,
followed by the date, followed by the total number of eggs they've collectively laid altogether since they started.
No real reason for doing this aside from having a record of their egg laying patterns, and seeing how many eggs I've gotten in total since they started laying is pretty fun

By doing this I've discovered that my Barred Rock lays the most days in a row without a break, usually 10 days in a row in summer and 5 days in a row in winter; my Orpington usually lays 4 days in a row then skips a day; my Cream Legbar lays 2 days in a row, then skips a day . Interesting that of the three, Charlotte the Barred Rock is the best layer!

I've been writing in one of those little 60-page composition books, but a computer program would work just as well I'd assume, even something as simple and un-fancy as Notepad .
