I keep an egg chart!
I make a list sorted by date, with abbreviations of whatever chickens happened to lay that day; for example:
CL / BR / ORP - 11/19/19 - 180 (Eggs-To-Date Total)
On the left are the breed abbreviations of who laid that day,
followed by the date, followed by the total number of eggs they've collectively laid altogether since they started.
No real reason for doing this aside from having a record of their egg laying patterns, and seeing how many eggs I've gotten in total since they started laying is pretty fun
By doing this I've discovered that my Barred Rock lays the most days in a row without a break, usually 10 days in a row in summer and 5 days in a row in winter; my Orpington usually lays 4 days in a row then skips a day; my Cream Legbar lays 2 days in a row, then skips a day

. Interesting that of the three, Charlotte the Barred Rock is the best layer!
