i'm glad i read this post. i'm getting 2 BSL standard chicks in about 3 weeks. at that same time, i'll be getting 14 bantam silkie eggs. i plan on keeping 3 hens out of those eggs. so i was wondering how those 5 would get along. i still kinda wish my eggs would hatch on the same day i get my 2 chicks....but that's not gonna happen. my 2 chicks will be about 3 weeks old when the eggs hatch. i hope THAT won't pose a problem.
