I would love to have house chickens, but the hubs is not a fan. My little Welsummer "Orson" is always trying to slip in unnoticed. She is 13 weeks old, and much more adventurous than the other 2. She is also the youngest of the 3.

Anyone have any ideas in keeping her out, besides keeping the screen door closed?

Thanks!

! Pleased to have you with us! Maybe just gently shooing her with a broom?? Good luck to you!

They have all got in on the house storming. This is what I found today at lunch when i came home. We can't shut the screen doors because our geriatric basset hound needs to be able to come in & out when ever the urge strikes her.

So no old wives tales of things that will keep a chicken away? Like copper wire & snails...

I have found putting diapers on the dog to be an immense help. After a day or two suffering the indignity of being diapered and undiapered, my old dog suddenly finds it within himself to hold his natural urges until he is let out. As long as I keep an eye on him and let him out regularly that is... When he starts to be shifty about 'letting things fly' again, the diapers go back on. And so the cycle renews again.
