Keeping the nesting boxes clean

To keep my nest boxes clean, I line the bottom with parchment paper and use rubber tubs with the fronts cut out and then put pine shavings in them or I sometimes buy the commercial nest box liners and add pine shavings. Really easy to clean and the parchment keeps the poop from sticking to the wood bottom of the boxes. My boxes are raised off the floor but putting parchment down first would also help with boxes that are on the floor.

I got real tired of pulling pullets out of the nests during head count/lock up,
tho that's easier than cleaning nests,
so made a hinged cover for my nest bank.
Flip it down an hour before roost time,
then flip it back up when I lock up after dark.
