I bought 10 guinea keets from a farmer last Friday and later noticed one of them was constantly trembling. Now it is starting to stumble around when it walks. After reading several disease lists, I'm fairly confident that it has avian encephalomyelitis. Now I'm uncertain what to do with the birds. From what I've read, survivors will not become sick again, but still carry the virus in their guts. If a bird recovers from the illness, can it still spread it to other birds? If so, it may be best if I just cull them outright (though I hate the thought of it).
