I have a chick with a pendulous crop from birth, she has developed sour crop. I have been giving her egg yolk/garlic water/Greek yogurt/oregano mash to give her easily digestible nutrients, with things in it to fight the yeast.
I've read about kefir. I have no clue what it is and even trying to read about it has left me confused.
Is there anyone who can explain to me what it is, what exactly to get, and how to give it to her?

Kefir is a fermented drink, usually a milk base, but there are water kefir's also. Grains are fermented in the liquid. Many health food stores carry it, as well as some grocery store chains, usually milk kefir. It's like a drinkable yogurt, sort of.
I read your other posts and I'm not sure that I would give that to the chick right now. Since this has been going on since it was two days old, I suspect there is more going on with this chick. Some chicks really stuff themselves and have enormous crops, but if it is not emptying over night, then it's not normal. The reason it's not emptying needs to be addressed. It could be impacted, or there is something farther down the digestive tract that is slowing or stopping things. If the crop has become pendulous, then that can prevent it from emptying normally. I would withhold food today, give water orally and do crop massage to see if you can get what is in the crop to loosen up and start moving. Do that 4 or 5 times today, see if it makes any difference. You can also give some coconut oil, refrigerate it til firm and feed her small bits, also doing crop massage. Try to get a tsp or so in her. That will sometimes help get things moving. What do this chicks droppings look like? When food sits in a crop it sours, if the crop will not empty then it will keep recurring. What are you feeding, exactly?
