Kentucky Chicken Newbie...former CA city dweller.....

Hello folks,,, I am a newbie to chickens and have 2 roosters (given to me by a neighbor) that are about 18 months old and now have 11 hens. This is all new to me. I have 11 girls in the garage now, 6 in two large dog kennels with 5 babies in a mesh style pet pen. The roosters have been outside since we got them, about 2 months ago. Our coop was built, by our neighbor, under our 16x18 raised deck. I am now looking for ideas to build a hen house for the girls and move them outside. The coop is rather large, 18 x 16 by 10 feet high. I am doing my best to keep cost down. I am sure we will end up getting more girls, I mean they are very cute when you go to TS or RK. Looking for any ideas for a low cost easy to build hen house. I have zero background in building anything, my background was in Law Enforcement and detailed investigations. I am also a newbie to the country lifestyle as I moved from Los Angeles county in May 22.

I think the 16x18 area you are referring to as a coop is what we refer to as a run. The henhouse would be referred to as a coop. You could get a used shed and convert it into a coop.
