Kentucky

Casey,
Te Kentuckiana show has been moved to Shelbyville, Ky. this coming year. I just joined the club, and that was decided at the last meeting. There is a great facility at the Shelby County Fairground. It's just a couple of miles from the exit. Lots of places to eat. And will be closer for you! If you have any questions, let me know. I'll talk to Walt and see if I can get an answer.

Only question I can think of is,.....where is that? LOL! I will be needing to get directions for sure, and thankfully it is closer to me!!

Hi Kentucky-momma,

We need to post a map with liitle stars where we all are. We're trying to plan a get together for spring maybe, so keep checking back.

Casey,
Shelbyville is on I64, just before you get to Louisville. The fairgrounds is right in the middle of town. There are a few hotels, lots of restaurants, and come this spring, Lots of pretty chickens.

I live out in the country in south central Kentucky, between Horse Cave and Munfordville area.

I don't have any chickens yet, but have 41 eggs on my lil giant incubator and have 20 white crested ducks and 9 (ordered 33, but meyer hatchery only had 9 available) Black East Indies ducks.

Also have 7 spoiled rotten Boer Goat nannies, no boyfriend atm, am on the prowl for a sexy specimen for them.

A blue healer named Abby (Abigale) and a house cat named Boots (Bootsie).

I am spending every waking moment nowadays either building housing or reading about chickens, ducks, and peafowl. (I plan on ordering some peafowl eggs from ebay as soon as my chicks hatch from the incubator.

I drive an Amish logging crew back and forth to work and go to Leitchfield every day to drop a guy off at the sawmill and head to the woods with the other two and spend the day planning on my evening chores.

I would really like to find some kind of list of when and where the local shows are. The only one I have been to is the Sano sale barn that is on Friday nights I believe. I was there last june/july not sure exactly when, but remember there were some poultry there.

I'm near Ashland KY, still fairly new to this site but it's great and everyone is so friendly.
currently in the brooder we have Buff Orps, barred Rocks, EE, BL Polish, some fryers(?breed)
I have ordered some Cuckoo Marans, golden Phoenix, Australorps and some surprise special pullets
Mine aren't show chickies , they're from hatcheries and are mostly for meat and eggs .
Hubby says I can't have one of each kind...gee I don't know why not...
So nice to meet everyone.
