Why don't you just move it a little farther back like you said you could right? Can the truck pull the coop and slide it over the grass? I would do that and then section off this area where the kerosene was burned Just build a little wood box something that will keep the girls out of the area. Will you be letting them out of the coop to free range at all or will they stay in the coop all the time? If you let them out~ this is why it is very important to atleast block that area inif you can't remove the dirt... Chickens like to dust bath, where ever there is dirt they will roll in it, kick it up, dig in it, and lay in it! If they do this in the area where that was used it could harm them not to mention when they eat bugs from the ground they always get some dirt with their nibbles. Don't be too frustrated just take your time and think about ways to get what you want. Wish your dad would have a chnage of heart and lend you a hand. I know it's not easy trying to do everything yourself
