Khaki Cambell hen missing drake lonely

I have or maybe I should say had a mated pair of Khaki Cambells. The hen has gone missing and the drake doesn't seem to know where she is. Is this normal? He seems lost without her. Should I get some more females for him? He is wandering around down at the pond where they used to hang out together. Should I leave him or make him stay up by the house so if she was taken he doesn't meet the same fate. We were locking them in at night but they are very stubborn and wouldn't always come and now this happened. Thanks for any advice.

Hi and welcome to BYC. I similarly know nothing about ducks, but my first thought was that maybe she is sitting on eggs somewhere. I'm sure the duck peeps will be able to help you out.
