Khaki Campbell and Indian runners

"Blue" is an allele with a confusing name. If an otherwise genetically black duck has one blue allele then he will be a color that is called "blue". He won't actually be blue, he will be gray (which is not the same as the color called "gray", which is the color of wild mallards).

An otherwise genetically black duck with two blue alleles is an even lighter gray, which is called "silver". Well, it is one of the many colors called "silver".

Anyway, the effect of a blue allele is that it makes the duck lighter, especially on any part that would be black or iridescent. It is incompletely dominant, so two alleles do more than one. Your drake has two blue alleles and your duck has none, so the ducklings will have one. Thus they will be slightly darker than their father.
