Hi, I was wondering what type of Khaki Campbell cross ducklings would have eye stripes. I have a duck that I believe is a KC, she was dumped in a park nearby but eventually made her way to our house and pond. I don’t have many great photos of her, but I’ll add something here.

She turned out to be very sweet and a terrific layer but not broody at all. She typically leaves her eggs at the edge of the pond where they’re knocked into the water. I decided to incubate three of her eggs and now have three very sweet new babies.

One duckling looks similar to pictures I’ve seen of KC ducklings and two have eye stripes. Do you think she was bred by a wild mallard? If any are from one of my drakes, it would have been a pekin or a magpie.

The stripes remind me of mallard, but I am not familiar with Maggie duckling colors. I have seen the mallard stripes show up on crosses that did not involve mallards, most domestic ducks are derived from Mallards. How long ago did she come to your pond? Do you have mallard visitors?

She's been living on our pond for a few months now. We do have some mallard visitors, but my boys tend to chase them away :)

I have a female Pekin and a khaki drake
I incubated their eggs and all 5 babies have the eye strip and 4 dots on their backs.
As they are starting to feather in they are looking more like mallards and not either parent
I believe this is cause of the mallard background the other ducks come from
