We are currently on day 29 of incubating our khaki campbell eggs. I was getting concerned when I kept seeing feet by the air sac. Then over the weekend my incubator humidity dropped to 55% for several hours (day 26). I mad an observation slit and noticed that my duckling was shrink wrapped. Realizing that if I did not intervene, my duckling would most certainly not survive, I attempted to remove the now leathery membrane. The procedure went well, however, after freeing the duckling I noticed that the yolk sac was not completely absorbed. The little one passed away shortly after. My questions would be how long should I wait to ensure the yolk is absorbed and is there anything else i could do? Assuming that the other eggs have a similar issue with shrink wrapping.
