Khaki Campbell starting to lay....tiny eggs??

I forget - when new (first year) ducks starts to lay, are they teenie weenie? Our new khaki's; I Think are starting to lay. I have found 2 new eggs that are about the size of a quail egg!! I thought KC eggs are to be the size of at least jumbo chicken eggs/like my Pekin.
On another note, have your girls taken a hiatus? after molt, we had about 1.5 weeks of eggs from the Pekin and muscovy and they are now stopped. hmmm

My ducks started out laying full sized eggs, but other people have said their ducks layed smaller or even fairy eggs. One year when my cayuga was starting up for the season her first egg was the size of my fingernail! Her next egg was normal.

My ducks are taking a laying break at the moment. They don't lay when molting, and they stop again when the days get shorter. They are older, though. When they were younger they were less serious about their breaks, and just slowed way down.

I usually get tiny eggs for a few days, then small eggs then normal. Just their system reving up.

Tiny eggs in new layers are common, and so is a "hiatus" of laying after a molt.
