Khaki Campbell stoped laying!

I bought two cabbage heads. Gave one to the ducks and one to the chickens. Chickens dived right in. Ducks took three days to approach it. Both heads are gone now. Success. Thanks for the tip. Next time I may hang them as suggested. These I threw on the ground.

Also, ducks are laying again. Exactly two months from the day they stopped laying. Yummy! Oh, how I did miss having a fresh duck egg for breakfast every morning. Back in sync again.

Congrats on getting eggs again it's a good feeling isn't it. I still haven't gotten any ducks eggs but my chickens stated back laying after 2 months and gosh I am in heaven. nothing like fresh eggs. Ducks are much more scardy cats than chickens but they finally tried it that's great.Mine really like it hung up they get all around it and pull on it almost like playing cabbage tether ball.

I have khaki Campbell and KC x most of them are in their first year or just over 1 year old (born spring 2015) a couple are respectively ,2 and 3 years old. Its mid summer here. All of them have laid pretty much non stop through winter 2016. While some stopped for a short time, I had fresh eggs every single day in winter. I only purchased them in 2016 so did not have any ducks this time last year so no way to know if this is usual;) for them to stop laying now. They stopped just after Christmas. Here in NZ summer is start dec to end feb.

Anyway while 2 have been sitting on eggs (one just hatched out ducklings a week ago, one due in the next few days) all of my ducks have stopped laying about 3 weeks ago. They have all been molting over the last couple of months, however most have now finished their moult, and most were either finished or close to finishing their molt when they stopped laying.

Is that normal for khaki campbell? And if so when should I expect them to start laying again? If its just due to moult I am surprised that I have in the last 3 weeks only had one duck (same one) lay a couple of eggs.

And yes I have checked and double checked and there is definitely not a hidden nest anywhere. They are in a large, but contained space, and I have looked in every single spot they could possibly have or hide a nest and I am confident that there is not a sneaky nest anywhere. Even if I were wrong on this point, any such nest, if a few were laying, would now be huge and probably stink of rotting eggs. None of the ducks (aside from two afore emtioned mummy and incubating duck) are behaving broody, and they are all out and about all day so definately not sitting on eggs or thinking about doing so)

So is this normal, for all my khaki campbells to stop laying pretty much in unison? As it was pretty much all at the same time. One day I am gathering lots of eggs, the next no ones layin
My main concern is that i am not missing some health issue causing all my ducks to stop laying.

Seriously its been over a week since i saw a fresh egg. And that was one... One of the two fresh eggs i have had in 3 weeks. As above, most these ducks laid right through winter withiut missing a beat (or a day).

Is this normal for khaki campbell ducks in midsummer? I guess its been 3-4 weeks now, so if due to molt another month before the girls start to lay again? Even though for most the molt is pretty much done by now?
