Khaki Campbells, do they fly??

I got a mini-flyer from Ideal too!! She's a crested Khaki Campbell, hatched mid-June. She's the littlest duck in my flock, I wonder if she will ever catch up. They will all be running and she will pop way up about six feet like a grasshopper and go about twelve feet. When she first started to do this the other ducks acted stunned - they would get all quiet for a few seconds, then start chattering amongst themselves like "Did you see that??!!"
I wonder if she would go further and higher if she were around other ducks who could fly? Ducks seem to be subject to a lot of peer pressure.

My Khaki drake flies all over from pond to pond...all the ponds are over a distance of 10 acres or more.

I am not sure how wing clipping will work, I have never tried it my self, but would imagine that if it works or other flight birds, it should work for ducks too!

You could keep them in a pen to keep them from leaving...that my only other thought.

Letting your ducks fly really depends on where you live. If your close to other neighbors who have dogs letting ones ducks fly may give someone's dog a free meal when it lands in their front or back yard.
