Khaki changing colors

I have two ducks, a male chocolate runner and a female khaki. The khaki has been laying for almost 3 months, and suddenly she's getting these dark feathers? Like dark brown, much darker than the normal "khaki" light brown that she was.

I'm not worried I'm just curious as to why, so if anyone can tell me what's going on that would be great. If it's a dumb question and I missed something, sorry, I know much more about chickens than ducks. These are my first

Khakis bleach to a lighter color in the sun. You are just seeing her new feathers.
